SPEC Sheet

Derived from the ancient Greek ὑφ' ἕν (huph' hén), Hyphen literally means the union of two into one. The Hyphen collection unites opposites and comes in a range of materials: warm, soft and sensitive porcelain is joined by cold, strong and shiny steel.

Like every Armes luminaire, Hyphen is designed and manufactured in Morin-Heights, Quebec. The porcelain pieces are made in the same village, by ceramic artist Gréta Jonckheere, who lent her expertise to the development of Hyphen. e Hyphen. Crafted one by one with the utmost care, the porcelain modules require several stages of production over several days. The molds are designed and manufactured in Montreal.

Several materials and finishes are available:
chromatic black cast steel, boldly reflecting changing colors along its lines, sandblasted black cast steel, accentuating the luminaire's rounded forms, matte white porcelain, delicately tinted with the reflections of the light that surrounds it.
